Polar Plunge

Many brave teachers from South Marshall Elementary took part in the Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 20, 2010.  This team, along with many other teams in our area, raised a total of  $30,000 for the Special Olympics.  We are so proud of our Polar Plungers.  Check out the Photo Gallery for some more great pictures of the SMES Polar Plunge Team!

Happy Fall Break!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Fall Break.  Be sure to keep your brain working by reading 15-30 minutes each day, even over Fall Break.  Visit the Favorite Links page for more ideas and fun reading activities to do over your break.

Family Reading Night

September 15, 2009, was Family Reading Night at South Marshall Elementary School.  It was a great opportunity for students to come and have fun reading with their family members while shopping at the Book Fair and even creating a picture frame craft project.  It was a fun time for everyone!  We had nearly 100 students attend with their parents, and overall, the event was a huge success.  Be sure to watch for another Family Reading Night event in Spring.  Thanks to all of the teachers, staff, parents, and students who helped make the Family Reading Night a huge success!
